The cheapest ST-L X (the 100ps non-MHEV) is about £3k more, the 125ps MHEV another £1k or so so quite a difference to most wallets.
Our Ford Focus 1.0T 2018 EcoBoost suffered a catastrophic engine failure dur to a 'low oil pressure' arising apparently to the oil pump becoming blocked. We have had the car regularly serviced but missed the service interval by a few thousand miles due to various human factors.
It is a 2014 Fiesta SFE with the turbo 3 cylinder. There is no recommendation in the owner's manual for a time interval on the belt change, just every 150,000 miles. About 1 month ago it threw up an Engine Management Light with no noticeable symptoms. Code read as P0420. Reset with no remedial action taken other than filling up with Shell V-power and giving it for a good long
